Outgoing jokester into current pop culture, hip to the current fashion, and speech patterns and lingo (in 1976). Good comic timing and expressions. Please, no over the top caricatures of fire and brimstone Southern ministers. Pastor Matthews is a gentle, albeit, old fashioned man who has love in his heart but fears the sins of the modern (1970s) world.
